Fezile Khumalo

Director

Strategy, Operations and Team Management

Fezile is a mathematics educator based in the United Kingdom, and researcher dedicated to STEM advocacy. She holds an M.Sc. in Mathematical Modeling and a B.Sc in Mathematics and Chemistry, currently pursuing a PhD in Applied Mathematics with a focus on numerical analysis. She has facilitated numerous programs empowering women and girls in STEM, and has been recognized for her contributions with a nomination for the WOMANDLA STEAM Awards 2022, under the Mathematics category.

Committed to lifelong learning, she holds several professional development certifications and continues to inspire innovation and inclusivity through STEM conversations. As the director and cofounder of the hub, she leads operations and team coordination, ensuring smooth execution of programs and strategic alignment with the Hub’s mission.​​

Vuyiswa Mngometulu

Mentorship and Networking

Lead

Vuyiswa Mngometulu, E.I.T, is an Environmental Engineer with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from Northwestern University in Illinois, United States. She currently works as a Field Engineer at One Energy Enterprises, a power industrial company specializing in wind energy and high-voltage systems in Ohio. Her work supports the efficient operation of industrial power infrastructure and promotes the advancement of renewable energy in the Midwestern region. Driven by a passion for STEM education and empowerment, Vuyiswa supports initiatives that encourage young people to pursue careers in science and engineering. At the STEM Empowerment Hub, she leads mentorship and networking efforts, creating opportunities for connection, guidance, and exposure. She is committed to increasing accessibility and representation for underrepresented groups in STEM.

Nosisa Ndzinisa

Social Media Manager

Nosisa Ndzinisa is a dedicated student of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering at the University of Eswatini. She actively engages in her field, volunteering to install an efficient irrigation system for small-scale farmers. As the Social Media Manager for a student organisation, she promotes STEM education and encourages youth involvement through engaging content.

As the Social Media Manager, Nosisa plays a key role in managing the organisation’s digital presence, creating and sharing content, designing posts, and using social platforms to connect with audiences and spread the message of STEM empowerment.

Nosisa strongly believes that engineering has the potential to change lives and shape the future. By sharing her enthusiasm for the field, she aims to inspire more students to pursue STEM education and become part of a community that fosters innovation and positive transformation.

Vuyo Nxumalo

Data & Digital Systems Coordinator

Vuyo is a Data & Digital Systems Coordinator with a strong background in applied mathematics, statistics, and data science. He holds a BSc in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from the University of South Africa, where he built advanced expertise in numerical methods, statistical inference, forecasting, and mathematical modelling. Vuyo brings hands-on experience in data analysis, system design, dashboard development, and research support across health, policy, and social impact projects.

He has worked with national institutions, NGOs, and international partners, supporting data-driven decision-making through clean, reliable, and well-structured digital systems.

At STEM Empowerment Hub, Vuyo oversees data infrastructure, digital tools, and analytics workflows, ensuring programs are supported by accurate data, efficient systems, and clear insights. His work strengthens monitoring, evaluation, and strategic planning across the Hub’s initiatives.

Ayanda Motsa

Community Communications Officer 

Ayanda Sihle Motsa is passionate about empowering communities through effective communication and technology. She holds a Bachelor of Consumer Science in Extension and Rural Development from the University of Zululand.

​

With a strong interest in bridging gaps in Eswatini’s STEM landscape, Ayanda supports clear, inclusive communication that connects communities to opportunities. At the Hub, she helps coordinate information between teams, mentors, mentees, and partners to ensure smooth program delivery.

​

Outside of work, Ayanda enjoys exploring local markets and experimenting in the kitchen, drawing inspiration from community and culture.

Temasiko Ndwandwe

Director

Content, Engagement and Resource Management

Temasiko is a Chemistry and Biological Sciences graduate, a dedicated teacher who advocates for the integration of STEM with entrepreneurship and emphasizes the importance of equipping students with scientific knowledge and entrepreneurial skills. In addition to being an advocate for STEM education, she also advocates for mental health, recognizing their critical roles in personal and professional development.

With certificates in Leadership and Entrepreneurial Development, Temasiko is committed to lifelong learning and is passionate about mentoring the next generation of thinkers and leaders through a supportive and innovative educational environment. Her role as a the director and cofounder involves overseeing content creation and resource development at the Hub, fostering engagement and value for the SEH community.

Minenhle Mayisela

Mentorship and Networking

Assistant Lead

Minenhle is a Research Assistant at the University of the Witwatersrand in the Johannesburg Cardiology Division, focusing on the genetics of heart failure. She holds a Master of Science in Genomic Medicine from the institution. With a strong foundation in human genetics and a growing interest in bioinformatics, she is passionate about utilising next-generation sequencing (NGS) and data science to comprehend the com cardiovascular diseases in African populations. She participates in training, mentorship, and science communication initiatives aimed at building bioinformatics capacity in Africa. At the Hub, she supports the mentorship and networking portfolio, connecting emerging scientists with meaningful opportunities that promote collaboration and long-term growth. Her vision is rooted in equity, advancing African genomics and precision medicine in resource-limited settings.

Bhekiwe Dlamini

Resource Development Coordinator

Bhekiwe is an aspiring data professional soon to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Eswatini. With a growing passion for data-driven solutions in education, development, and innovation, she brings both structure and creativity to her work.

As a Resource Development Coordinator, Bhekiwe shapes and manages the Hub's learning and informational resources, including supporting webinars (from helping organise themes and ideas), managing shared resources across the Hub and contributing to content such as blogs, learning materials, and other tools we use to inform and empower.

Bhekiwe is committed to building accessible STEM ecosystems and inspiring more young people, especially in underrepresented communities, to explore their potential through science.

Dr Thandile Gule

Community Engagement and Partnerships Lead

Dr Thandile is a water specialist from Eswatini with a PhD in Water Management. She is currently serving with the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa’s Climate Change, Food Security and Natural Resource Division, where her work supports the advancement and coordination of Africa’s Water Agenda. She also serves as a Consultant at the World Bank's Infrastructure, Environment, Climate, and Urban Resilience Unit, Europe and Central Asia. With a keen focus on developing analytics to guide government dialogues, she plays a pivotal role in advancing water security, urban resilience and climate initiatives. She excels in leveraging data analysis tools and models such as remote sensing, machine learning, and GIS to extract valuable insights, provide visualisations, and optimise stakeholder engagement. At the Hub, she supports the strengthening of collaboration and the development of meaningful partnerships that advance and sustain the programme’s work. She is committed to leveraging her expertise and networks to empower emerging STEM leaders to translate knowledge into real-world solutions.

Ayanda Fakudze

Regional Program Coordinator (Eswatini)

Ayanda Fakudze, a master’s degree student in Food Science and Technology at the University of Eswatini, and currently employed by Premier Eswatini as QA/QC Manager for Mill and Beverages. Having worked in an FMCG environment for the past 6 years, she displays strong ability to manage stressful and challenging situations via personal application of limitless and successful efforts within the best interest of the company. Having to be food safety oriented, she strongly advocates for quality attainability within all processes and strongly believes in entrenchment of safety hygiene practices, hence the drive towards STEM education and empowerment.

As the Regional Program Coordinator – Eswatini this aligns with initiatives and empowerment programs to elevate Eswatini’s career guidance towards Science and Engineering.
